Vampiro or El Vampiro, is a member of the Eternals, a race in the Marvel Universe.

Fictional character biography

Vampiro is a professional wrestler who uses a Vampire-like persona in the ring in Los Angeles. He has a human wife named Maria. El Vampiro was prevented from answering the call to the Uni-Mind during the 4th Host of Celestials when the Deviant El Toro Rojo assaulted him, and injured him badly. He was saved by Thor.

Vampiro is one of three villains the faced off against Nova and Spider-Man in Nova vol. 3 #5 (September 1999), alongside Badd Axe and Firearms.

Publication history

Vampiro first appeared in Nova vol. 3 #5 (September 1999), and was created by Erik Larsen, Coy Turnbull and Al Milgrom. He next made an appearance in New Avengers Most Wanted Files (December 2005) and later in Avengers: The Initiative #26 (July 2009).

Fictional character biography

Vampiro, alongside his two partners, began battling Spider-Man, destroying an apartment building in the process. This building housed the parents of Richard Rider, aka Nova, who arrived shortly after hearing of the brawl. The two heroes were getting the upper hand when Badd Axe took a hostage. Spider-Man used his webbing to pull the hostage away, after which Nova grabbed Badd Axe and Vampiro, and flew into the air. Badd Axe managed to free himself and fell, while Vampiro was knocked out by Nova. After defeating Vampiro and handing him over to police, Nova realized that Firearms and Badd Axe had escaped.

Vampiro remained in prison after his initial capture until the events of Dark Reign enabled him to get out of prison if he joined other cadets at the training facility Camp H.A.M.M.E.R.. However, Vampiro was killed by The Hood after failing to be subtle in a double murder of some prostitutes he picked up at a truck stop.[1]

Powers and abilities

Though claiming to be an actual vampire, character have had there doubts noting him being out in broad daylight. Despite possessing fangs, Vampiro has not displayed any powers or abilities.
